I met new people yesterday and made new friends. One of them noticed I had trouble hearing, so of course I told her what happened to me.\u00a0 She totally took it in stride and said, “ahh so you read lips.”<\/p>\n

Another friend didn’t quite hear the conversation so he looked over and asked what we were saying.<\/p>\n

“Oh,” I said, “I was just telling Jill I’m deaf.”<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Without blinking an eye or losing his smile, Peter said, “What?\u00a0 I couldn’t hear you.”\u00a0 Though I pretend bopped him, we were both laughing and they made my day. So thanks Peter and Jill, for showing that it’s no big deal. I knew it, but it’s nice to have friends remind me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
