Wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve written and I apologize for that.\u00a0\u00a0 Sometimes I get so busy I forget I’m deaf. \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 While\u00a0being deaf\u00a0is a full time job, I’ve managed to add a few more hobbies into my life, one of which is cooking.\u00a0 Yes, after all these years of being an avid cooking hater, I suddenly got an urge to cook.\u00a0 Though most everyone I know is wondering why, I can’t explain it.\u00a0 I’m wondering too.\u00a0 Nevertheless, in the past month, I have made (from scratch)\u00a0French Onion Soup, New York Cheesecake with a strawberry glaze topping, French Baguettes, Glazed London Broil, and I’ve baked several cakes and a Lemon Meringue Pie.\u00a0 Those though, were not quite from scratch, but I will get there.<\/p>\n

Oddly enough, something happened to\u00a0really confuse me – the\u00a0odd beeping of my\u00a0oven timers.\u00a0 My brand new ovens, I might add.\u00a0 (Which may be the reason for my new found interest in cooking.\u00a0 Give a girl new toys and she may\u00a0start to play!)\u00a0 Anyway, I noticed the\u00a0timer beeping at weird times.\u00a0 I kept checking the food, but it was fine.\u00a0 Nothing should have been beeping.\u00a0 And then came the magical moment when I realized that\u00a0it was\u00a0not the timers doing the beeping.\u00a0 I figured this out when I was sitting in another room reading and heard the beep.<\/p>\n

You guessed it.\u00a0 It was my hearing aid.\u00a0 My recently replaced Starkey Destiny hearing aid.\u00a0 It seems this hearing aid likes to hear itself beep so at unpredictable times, it does just that.\u00a0 It’s not for a change in volume, it’s not for low battery, it’s not for change of program.\u00a0 It just speaks up now and then.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It’s annoying as heck but there is one good thing about it – it’s not my ovens.\u00a0 They work just fine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
